It is a strictly temporal culturally based emphasis on a particular body part. These things come and go as time passes.

The actual shapes of women's buttocks of any particular population probably isn't strikingly unique, but that population's perception of those buttocks might have developed a certain way, and it probably will develop a different way given enough time.

Food is from the uneducated. It is all selective adaptation, years of necessity. Just like skin pigmentation, the epicanthic fold and other things that differentiate negroids, caucazoids and mongoloids.

It has to do with food (especially type) and the amount of physical activity one gets.
